Ila D. Mehta, a graduate in Home Science is a Director at Deepak Novochem Technology Ltd. and Deepak Phenolics. She is also the Head of CSR committee at Deepak Phenolics creating livelihood opportunities for Self Help Group women. She is a Trustee of Deepak Foundation, serves as an advisor at ‘Samaj Suraksha Sankul’ which works towards the rehabilitation of these children. She has also initiated multiple philanthropic projects such as recognizing ‘Unsung Heroes’ of our society, food distribution, relief for migrant labourers, etc.
Ila has been a member of the citizen’s council set up by Vadodara Corporation for ideating concepts for city development. She has been the President of Inner-wheel Club, Pune Riverside. She has published a book, ’SamvatsariPratikraman’, which has been translated in Gujarati, English, and Hindi explaining Jain rituals thoroughly. She is currently working on compiling a learning module for ’Tatwarth Sutra’, one of the basic Granths of Jainism. She has organized and sponsored the play “Yugpurush”, which depicts the life of Shrimad Rajchandra and Mahatma Gandhi.
