PIONEER – MENTOR : Mr. C.K. Mehta is a neoteric philanthropist without whom the Jain Sahitya Academy could not have been established. An industrialist, philanthropist and a visionary, started his career from a scratch and have risen to become founder of one of the leading chemical company of India, named Deepak Nitrate , Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals. He went ahead and made Deepak Foundation for pursuing his philanthropic activities. With the blessings of P.P. Bhadrankar Vijayji M.S, he went ahead on spirituality by practicing Samayik, Pratikaman and various tapasyas. He held many relief camps during drought in his birthplace, Amreli and also as a visionary established Deepak High School, Shri Khimchand Moolchand Jain Vidyarthi Gruh and Goshalas. He had done lot of charitable work in field of Sadharmik Sahay, Social, Health, Education, family welfare, labour, women empowerment, farmers empowerment, environment, teachers training, vocational trainings and many more such social schemes. He established Deep Jyoti Shala in Mumbai. He has to his credit prathistha of various Jinalayas, printing of religious texts, Vaiyavachch of Guru Bhagwants. He has made few Upashrays, Panjrapols, Social Bhavans etc. Mr C.K. Mehta is an ideal Jain shravak who has not only lived for himself but has dedicated his life towards human kind. At age of 75 years, he left his business and completely dedicated his life for upliftement of his soul.
